Metro Dental Emergencies Tip #2: Loose or Exfoliated Baby Tooth

babies brushing teeth

When your child have a baby tooth that fell out, have your child bite down on clean, folded gauze or cloth over the bleeding area for 15min and no talking. Pressure will in almost all cases stop the bleeding.

If your child's baby tooth is very loose but just will not fall out or if you see the permanent adult tooth poking out through the gum beside the baby tooth, then the baby tooth will likely need to be removed by the dentist. The procedure is usually fast and does not require injection anaesthesia. We will clean and package your child's tooth for keepsake or in preparation for visit by the tooth fairy if you wish!
