What is Philips Zoom! Teeth Whitening?

Philips Zoom! is a well-known tooth whitening method. It uses a specially-formulated gel and the latest dental technology​.

It’s safe, effective, and is trusted by dental professionals worldwide. Patients love it too as it delivers dramatic results, fast.

Note, however, that only dental professionals who are an official Philips partner can perform the procedure.

How the Procedure Works

To find out whether Zoom! is right for you, we first conduct a comprehensive examination of your teeth, which includes x-rays. We need to ensure that your teeth and gums are in good health. We also talk to you about your oral hygiene habits and lifestyle.

While Zoom! Whitening is safe, not everyone may qualify as a candidate. The bleaching procedure won’t take effect on teeth with restorations, such as veneers or crowns. The gel might also exacerbate existing gum or teeth sensitivity issues.

If you have an extreme gag reflex, you may find it hard to complete the procedure. Zoom! Whitening also isn’t recommended for those with peroxide allergy and those who are currently pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Once we determine you’re ready for it, we also recommend getting a tooth cleaning for optimum results.

During the procedure, we cover your lips and gums and only leave the teeth exposed. We apply the highly-concentrated hydrogen peroxide whitening gel and set the Zoom! LED Light. These two work together to break up stains on your teeth.

We leave the gel in place for three 15-minute sessions while activating the LED light. The LED light can be adjusted to fit your sensitivity and stain level.

After the procedure, you may feel sensitivity in the area, but this is temporary. Touch-ups may also be required as the teeth can still darken over time. To enjoy the results of your treatment for longer, it helps to avoid smoking and teeth-staining foods.
